My Top Four.

 

So with all the different ways available to us to finally embark on building our online empire,what are considered to be the top, or indeed the most popular methods used for us to get out there and make money online. There is a huge trend in favor of the internet, and most companies are actually spending a greater portion of their marketing budget online, and as this huge trend in favour of the internet continues people are seriously looking at how they can get their share.

 

 

1) Affiliate Marketing.

Affiliate Marketing is usually for people who do not have their own product. Instead, you are marketing one or more retailers’ products with the purpose of selling them and being paid a commission for doing so. It is often easier and cheaper to get started as you do not have to design your own products, you do not have to deal with the customer or provide for quality service, guarantee, etc. The retailer is normally the one taking care of all this since it is his product. You are like a sales representative and are being paid a commission when you make a sale.

 

2) Blogging.

Blogging is somewhat similar to Article Marketing. In fact, a blog is a discussion or informational site published on the net consisting of distinct posts displayed in reverse chronological order. These posts can  be on general topics, simply discussing them purely for the purpose of connecting with people and sharing ideas a little like in Social Media. On the other hand, these posts are often times focused on one targeted topic providing great information to people related to this particular topic with the purpose of establishing a relationship with people, gaining credibility, branding and, ultimately, monetizing by selling them a solution to a specific problem.

 

3) Entrepreneurship & Freelancing.

An Entrepreneur or Freelancer is someone who is self-employed, not committed to any employer on the long term. They are usually selling their own products or services. An Entrepreneur would be selling any kind of products such as toys, jewelry, kitchen gadgets, high tech products, etc. A Freelancer would be more like a journalist, publisher, musician, translator, computer programming, website development, event planning and so on.

They are marketing their own products or services themselves as this is their own business and/or they could be dealing with Affiliates that would help them marketing and selling their products and services and would pay them commissions when they generate sales.

 

 

4) Social Media & SEO.

Social Media is making money from building a network of individuals that gather on your own site for social purposes. Once the network is getting to a great number of individuals, it becomes attractive to many companies that are then willing to pay for advertising on your network. There are many examples of such networks such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. SEO is a very specialized field in which people are making money by selling their services.

This service is referred to as Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and has the purpose of optimizing your website in order to increase his visibility or ranking among all the sites on the web. It involves editing the content and associated coding like HTML to increase its relevance to selected keywords as well as many other SEO tactics.

You have most certainly deducted that these ways are not exclusive. There is a possible and probable intermixing of them all… for example, an Affiliate Marketer could be using  Blogging, Social Media and SEO as tools within his marketing arsenal to promote and, ultimately sell his/her selected products or services.

These are just the four main ways of making money online and you can find great resources to learn any or all of them according to your own choice or preference.
