Cheap USB Sticks – Not what they Seem!

This is just a heads up on something I found out, to my cost and wanted to share with anyone out there. I had purchased some cheap USB thumb drives and after a couple of weeks I noticed that a good handful of them were having intermittent faults of one kind or another.  Nothing in particular, just little niggles here and there.

So being the inquisitive type I decided to break one down and to astonishment this is what I found.

By the way, all of the USB’s were obtained from EBay and came from Asia.

It goes without saying they were Dirt cheap………..

So far so good. Nothing strange about it.

Alright ,,, nothing really strange so far ,,, lets take it out,,,,, and turn it over

WTF is going on here then?

Ohhhhhhh come on ,,,,,,, and congratulations ,,, I just bought an overpriced 4-8 GB micro sd card.

Actually I bought a dozen of them……… don’t make the same mistake I did

Be careful out there

Let us know if you have come across similar issues where buying cheap is not always the best deal.
